ISLAMABAD: The United States Embassy in Islamabad and the US Consulates General in Lahore and Karachi have temporarily suspended visa services, cancelling all appointments until March 6 due to security concerns.
US diplomatic officials said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure in view of the current security situation. During this period, all scheduled visa interviews and related services will remain suspended.
The embassy has advised applicants to monitor its official website and email communications for updates regarding rescheduling and further instructions. Officials stated that the situation is being reviewed on an ongoing basis and that information about the resumption of services will be shared once conditions stabilise.
The suspension comes as several diplomatic missions in Pakistan adjust their operations following heightened regional tensions linked to recent developments involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
Applicants affected by the cancellation have been asked to wait for further notification before making new travel arrangements.
