US Delegation Explores Investment Opportunities Across Key Sectors in Punjab

LAHORE: A visiting United States delegation held meetings with Punjab government officials and business leaders to explore investment opportunities and strengthen economic cooperation between Pakistan and the US.

The delegation arrived in Lahore after engagements in Islamabad and Karachi. The visit was facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

During a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the delegation was briefed on the province’s economic reforms, investor-friendly policies and opportunities in information technology, artificial intelligence, healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure and minerals.

Punjab Presents Investment Incentives

At an investment briefing organised by the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade, Provincial Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain outlined incentives available in Special Economic Zones.

The delegation was also briefed on investment prospects in agriculture, energy, minerals, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, textiles and electric vehicles.

Officials highlighted measures aimed at attracting foreign investment and improving the business environment for international companies seeking to establish or expand operations in Punjab.

Delegation Visits Industrial Facilities

The US delegation visited Sundar Industrial Estate and toured the facilities of Tetra Pak Pakistan and Colgate-Palmolive Pakistan.

The visits provided an overview of local industrial capacity, manufacturing operations and potential opportunities for partnerships in the province.

The delegation also held discussions at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on expanding bilateral trade, private-sector collaboration and business-to-business linkages.

According to officials, delegation members appreciated Punjab’s investment environment and expressed interest in exploring partnerships across multiple sectors.

The visit formed part of broader efforts to deepen long-term economic engagement between Pakistan and the United States through trade, investment and private-sector cooperation.
