GUJRAT: In a departure from traditional Teachers’ Day celebrations, the Institute of Hotel & Restaurant Management (IHRM) at the University of Gujrat recently organised a special Students’ Day to recognise the dedication, trust and hard work of its students.

Organised by IHRM’s Academic Director and faculty, the event paid tribute to the students who give meaning to the teaching profession and inspire educators throughout their professional journeys.

Addressing the gathering, Academic Director Ayaz Noorani highlighted the importance of students in the educational process, observing that teachers are often celebrated while students’ contributions receive less recognition.

“While Teachers’ Day is widely celebrated, we often overlook the students. Without them, we aren’t truly teachers—we are simply readers without an audience,” he said.

Noorani described students as the primary inspiration behind a teacher’s professional journey and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to guide them and contribute to shaping their futures.

The celebration reflected IHRM’s commitment to preparing students for leadership roles in the hospitality and tourism industries. By recognising their discipline, creativity and dedication, the institute reaffirmed its focus on developing responsible and skilled professionals.

The event concluded with warm wishes for the students’ future success, celebrating their role in shaping the future of hospitality and tourism.
