Pakistan red-ball bowling coach Umar Gul has rejected speculation about a disagreement with fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi during the second Test against Bangladesh at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
A video circulating on social media showed an interaction between Gul and Shaheen Afridi, leading to online claims of tension within the Pakistan squad. However, no verified details supported the rumours, which quickly gained attention among cricket fans.
Speaking at a press conference, Gul clarified that the conversation was related to a routine update during the match and not an argument. He explained that fast bowler Hasan Ali had suffered a head injury and was temporarily off the field when Shaheen Afridi was informed about the situation.
“There was a misunderstanding on social media regarding Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali,” Gul said, adding that there was no internal issue within the team.
The clarification comes as Pakistan continue their Test series against Bangladesh, with team management seeking to avoid distractions during the tour.
