SHANGLA: A two-storey residential house was completely destroyed in a sudden fire in the Bela Amanvi area of Shangla, leaving a family facing substantial financial losses. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
The house, belonging to Zain, son of Jan Zaib, was engulfed by flames within minutes. Furniture, clothing, bedding, household goods, electrical appliances and other valuables were destroyed in the blaze. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Family Loses Lifetime Savings
Local residents attempted to control the fire after it broke out, but the intensity of the blaze caused extensive damage to the entire building. The house was reduced to debris and ashes.
Zain said the house had been built with his lifetime savings and years of hard work. He said the loss had left the family without the financial means to rebuild the property.
The affected family has appealed to the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments, relevant authorities, elected representatives and philanthropists for financial assistance to help rebuild their home and secure shelter.
Residents Seek Government Assistance
Local residents have also urged the government and charitable organizations to provide immediate support to the affected family, citing the scale of the loss and the family’s inability to reconstruct the destroyed house on its own.
The family is seeking financial assistance and a special relief package to help meet its immediate housing needs and begin reconstruction.
