RAWALPINDI: Three people were injured after a cooling unit compressor exploded during repair work at District Headquarters Hospital in Rawalpindi, hospital administration said.

The injured were shifted to the burn unit of Holy Family Hospital for treatment following the compressor explosion at Rawalpindi DHQ Hospital.

Officials said the blast was loud enough to be heard in nearby areas, causing panic among patients, hospital staff and residents.

Hospital authorities said the incident occurred during repair work on the cooling system. Further details about the condition of the injured were not immediately available.
