The increasing incidents of killings and vandalism in Circle Havelian have exposed the law and order situation. About three murders in a week have created an atmosphere of fear and panic among the people, said Mufti Dr. Qasim Al-Hashemi, the preacher of the Central Jamia Mosque Havelian.
He said that there is an urgent need to take effective measures to stop this wave of killings and vandalism. Intolerance is also growing among the people. Mufti Dr. Qasim Al-Hashemi has demanded that the elders of the area play their role in this serious situation and hold jirga system with local elders at different places across the area regarding law and order. He said that there is a need to control the shortcomings found in the society in collaboration with the police. Such acts can be stopped by strengthening the hands of the police.
