LAHORE, October 27, 2026: TCL has introduced its SQD-Mini LED television technology in Pakistan, bringing advancements in colour accuracy, brightness and contrast through a redesigned display system that combines Super Quantum Dot technology, precision local dimming and enhanced colour filtering.

The technology is available across TCL’s C7L, C8L and flagship X11L television series, with screen sizes ranging from 55 to 98 inches. The company says the new displays are designed to address common limitations of conventional Mini LED televisions, including colour inaccuracies, light blooming and reduced picture clarity in brightly lit environments.

Unlike traditional television upgrades that primarily focus on increasing brightness or the number of dimming zones, TCL’s SQD-Mini LED technology aims to improve how light, colour and contrast interact at the panel level.

Super Quantum Dot technology improves colour precision

At the centre of the new display system is Super Quantum Dot (SQD) technology, which uses nanoscale particles to convert backlight into red, green and blue light.

Conventional quantum dot displays can experience colour inconsistencies caused by variations in particle size and structural characteristics. TCL says its Super QLED technology addresses these limitations by refining quantum dot particle sizes and redesigning their core-shell structure.

According to the company, these improvements enable more precise colour conversion, resulting in purer greens, deeper reds and cleaner whites.

The technology is intended to improve colour accuracy before light passes through the television’s colour filter layer, helping maintain consistency across larger screens.

Precision dimming targets halo effects

Another major feature of TCL’s SQD-Mini LED technology is its Precise Dimming Series, developed to reduce the halo effect commonly associated with conventional LED-backlit televisions.

This effect occurs when light from illuminated dimming zones spreads into neighbouring dark areas, creating visible halos around bright objects against dark backgrounds.

TCL says its redesigned local dimming system offers more precise control over individual lighting zones, helping maintain contrast between bright highlights and darker portions of an image.

The flagship X11L model features more than 20,000 local dimming zones, according to the company.

The system is designed to improve picture depth and preserve details in scenes containing both intense highlights and deep shadows, such as night landscapes, stadium lighting and cinematic sequences.

Ultra Color Filter enhances image accuracy

TCL has also incorporated its Ultra Color Filter technology to improve colour reproduction at the panel’s filtering layer.

Traditional colour filters can introduce inaccuracies as light passes through different colour channels. The company’s enhanced filtering system is designed to reduce these inconsistencies and preserve colour precision throughout the image-production process.

By combining Super Quantum Dot technology, precise local dimming and improved colour filtering, TCL aims to deliver more consistent image quality across its SQD-Mini LED television range.

High brightness designed for Pakistani homes

One of the key features highlighted by TCL is peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits, which the company says can improve picture visibility in environments with strong ambient lighting.

The feature is particularly relevant to Pakistani households, where televisions are frequently used in brightly lit living rooms and shared family spaces.

TCL also highlights the use of inorganic LED technology, claiming an operational lifespan of approximately 60,000 hours.

The company says the technology avoids the burn-in concerns associated with some self-emissive display technologies, particularly when televisions frequently display static elements such as news tickers, gaming interfaces and streaming menus.

However, actual brightness, longevity and picture performance may vary depending on the television model, content and viewing conditions.

Features for sports, gaming and entertainment

TCL is positioning its SQD-Mini LED televisions for a range of entertainment applications, including sports broadcasts, gaming and cinematic viewing.

For cricket and football enthusiasts, the company says improved light control and contrast can help preserve image details during fast-paced broadcasts.

Gaming features include High Dynamic Range (HDR) performance and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support, which are intended to provide smoother visuals and improved image consistency during gameplay.

For movie viewing, the combination of precise dimming and enhanced colour reproduction is designed to improve shadow detail, highlights and overall picture depth.

Three SQD-Mini LED series introduced

The new SQD-Mini LED lineup includes the C7L, C8L and flagship X11L series, covering screen sizes from 55 to 98 inches.

With the introduction of these models, TCL is expanding its premium television offerings in Pakistan, focusing on larger displays, advanced backlighting systems and improved colour reproduction.

The company describes SQD-Mini LED as a significant development in television engineering, combining improvements in quantum dot materials, light management and colour filtering rather than relying solely on higher brightness specifications.

The new lineup reflects TCL’s efforts to strengthen its position in Pakistan’s premium television market as consumer demand grows for larger screens and advanced home entertainment technologies.
