ISLAMABAD: StarCharge, a global provider of EV charging and smart energy solutions, and Wateen, a leading telecommunications and infrastructure services company in Pakistan, have announced a Joint Cooperation Initiative aimed at accelerating the country’s transition towards clean energy and electric mobility.

The initiative brings together StarCharge’s energy technologies and Wateen’s infrastructure capabilities to explore opportunities in EV charging, battery energy storage, renewable energy integration, microgrids and smart energy management across suitable locations.

Chief Guest Haroon Akhtar Khan, Minister of State for Industries and Production, appreciated the efforts of Omar Malik, CEO of StarCharge Pakistan, in advancing Pakistan’s clean energy and electric mobility agenda.

Adil Rashid, CEO of Wateen, also joined the initiative, reflecting a shared commitment to sustainable innovation and infrastructure development.

The initiative aligns with the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s vision for an environmentally sustainable future, with a focus on promoting electric vehicles and cleaner energy solutions.

Following the Prime Minister’s visit to China, where he appreciated Chinese investment and participation in Pakistan’s development, the collaboration represents an important step towards strengthening international partnerships and supporting the country’s green transition.

With the Ministry of Industries and Production actively supporting these efforts, StarCharge and Wateen aim to contribute to Pakistan’s ambition of expanding EV adoption and developing a more sustainable mobility ecosystem by 2030.

Together, the two organisations are committed to supporting a cleaner, smarter and more sustainable Pakistan.
