Case registered after police allegedly conducted a raid based on incorrect information and filed a false FIR, officials say.

LAHORE: A Station House Officer (SHO) and 11 police personnel have been suspended and booked after allegedly conducting a raid based on incorrect information and registering a false criminal case in Lahore.

According to police sources, SHO Muhammad Irfan of Sarwar Road Police Station and 11 other officers have been named in a case registered on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Mushtaq.

The FIR states that the police team allegedly carried out a raid at the residence of the brother of a senior government official based on incorrect information and subsequently registered a false case.

Officials said the SHO and the accompanying personnel have been charge-sheeted, and a criminal case has been registered against them at Sarwar Road Police Station.

According to the FIR, the disciplinary action was initiated after the alleged wrongful raid and registration of the case came to light. The officers were charge-sheeted by the SP Cantt before the case was formally registered.

Police have not released further details regarding the ongoing investigation or any additional disciplinary proceedings.
