SHANGLA, August 5: Senior civil and police officials in Shangla paid tribute to police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, reaffirming their commitment to combating terrorism and supporting the families of fallen officers during a Police Martyrs’ Day ceremony held at Police Lines Alpurai.

The event brought together district administration officials, senior police officers, families of police martyrs, lawyers, religious scholars, community elders, media representatives, and members of the public to honor the sacrifices of police personnel who died while protecting lives, maintaining law and order, and fighting terrorism.

Officials pay tribute to fallen officers

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Abdullah Shah and District Police Officer (DPO) Ikramullah Khan said the sacrifices made by police martyrs remain a lasting symbol of courage, patriotism, and dedication to public service.

They stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has played a vital role in restoring peace and strengthening the rule of law, adding that the nation would continue to remember its fallen officers with respect and gratitude.

Guard of honour and prayers

The ceremony began with a police contingent presenting a guard of honour at the Martyrs’ Memorial, followed by the laying of floral wreaths and bouquets.

Special prayers were offered for the departed police personnel, the recovery of injured officers, and for Pakistan’s peace, security, and stability.

Among those attending were SP Investigation Saleem Amanullah, SP Headquarters Muhammad Bashar, Chairman District Resolution Council Bahruddin Khan, District Bar Association President Suleman Shah Advocate, senior police officers, district administration officials, and families of police martyrs.

Commitment to fight terrorism

Addressing the gathering, DPO Ikramullah Khan said the police remain fully prepared to confront terrorism and maintain public order.

He urged citizens to avoid sharing or believing unverified information on social media and encouraged the public to report suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities to strengthen community-police cooperation.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Abdullah Shah also assured the families of police martyrs that the district administration would continue to support them and address their concerns.

Families of martyrs honored

Children of police martyrs and students from local educational institutions presented religious recitations, patriotic songs, speeches, and tableaux in tribute to the fallen officers.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, commemorative shields and gifts were presented to the families of police martyrs and injured police veterans in recognition of their sacrifices.

The event concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s prosperity, the well-being of injured police personnel, and continued success for law enforcement agencies in protecting the country.
