KARACHI: The first episode of the new Pakistani drama serial Mohabbat has sparked a wave of discussion on social media, with emerging actor Shahveer Kadwani facing criticism over his acting.
Shahveer plays the character Zarar in the drama. In the opening episode, he appears in a university scene where he confronts a senior who is mistreating his friend, portraying the character in the style of a conventional angry hero.
Following the scene’s circulation on social media, several viewers criticized Shahveer’s performance and described him with labels such as “parchee” and “reference kid.”
Some social media users also questioned his casting in the drama, linking it to his father, Abdullah Kadwani, who is also the producer of the serial.
The online reaction has made Shahveer’s debut performance one of the early talking points surrounding Mohabbat, with viewers expressing differing opinions about both his acting and casting.
