Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan produced a sensational performance against England, scoring his maiden ODI century to help Pakistan secure a thrilling one-wicket victory in the fourth ODI of the tri-nation series.

Chasing a target of 242 runs, Pakistan found themselves in serious trouble before Shadab, batting at No. 8, played a remarkable unbeaten innings of 113 runs from 96 balls to guide his team to an incredible victory.

The century was not only Shadab’s first in ODI cricket but also saw him set a major record. He became the player with the highest individual score in ODI history while batting at No. 8 or lower.

Shadab also formed a record-breaking 89-run partnership with Haris Rauf for the 10th wicket. The partnership came during a successful run chase and broke a 51-year-old ODI record.

The previous record was held by West Indies’ Deryck Murray and Andy Roberts, who had remained unbeaten on a 64-run 10th-wicket partnership against Pakistan during the 1975 World Cup in Birmingham.

The West Indies went on to win that match by one wicket and eventually lifted the World Cup in the same tournament.

Shadab’s extraordinary innings and his record partnership with Haris Rauf turned a seemingly difficult chase into one of Pakistan’s most dramatic ODI victories.
