NEW YORK: Hollywood actress Selma Blair was arrested following an alleged violent incident aboard a Delta Air Lines flight travelling from Los Angeles to New York, according to media reports. She was subsequently released on $20,000 cash bail.

According to USA Today, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said police were alerted to an incident involving the 54-year-old actress on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The aircraft was reportedly met by police after landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport at around 11 pm.

Authorities allege that Blair attempted to open the aircraft door during the flight and bit a flight attendant. Reports also describe allegations of physical aggression towards airline crew members.

Following her arrest, Blair was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation. One of the two flight attendants who reported injuries was also taken to hospital.

Charges and Investigation

According to court documents cited in media reports, Blair faces two counts of second-degree assault in Queens Criminal Court. The FBI is investigating the incident.

Reports further allege that the actress struck one flight attendant and bit another after being stopped by crew members. The reported injuries included a nosebleed and bite marks.

Blair was also reportedly taken for medical treatment after striking her head against the aircraft’s interior wall. Media reports additionally alleged that she attacked a nurse at the hospital.

The allegations have not been presented here as established findings of guilt.

Selma Blair’s Multiple Sclerosis Diagnosis

Blair was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2018. The chronic disease affects the central nervous system, and the actress has since spoken publicly about her experience to raise awareness of the condition.

However, the available report does not establish that her diagnosis was connected to the alleged in-flight incident.

Previous In-Flight Incident

This is reportedly not the first time Blair has been involved in an incident aboard an aircraft. In 2016, she was removed from a Delta Air Lines flight at Los Angeles International Airport on a stretcher following reports of severe distress and disruptive behaviour during the journey.

The latest incident remains under investigation by the relevant authorities.
