KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, November 4, 2026: In a major blow to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), its top commander, Bashir Zeb, has reportedly been poisoned by a close associate in Kandahar, Afghanistan, and subsequently shifted to India for medical treatment and refuge, according to intelligence reports cited in the account. The reported attack marks a dramatic escalation in deep-seated infighting and leadership feuds within the insurgent organisation.

Sources reveal that the poisoning follows months of heightened friction within the ranks of the proscribed group. Serious disputes have surfaced over the alleged embezzlement of funds, with allegations pointing towards Zeb’s close confidants siphoning off vast sums to European cities, including Stockholm and Paris.

Severe disagreements have also erupted regarding financial corruption and the exploitation of Baloch women used as operatives for BLA terrorist activities.

Frustration within the group has reportedly reached a boiling point following the failure of Operation Herof 3, which sources said collapsed despite massive foreign funding and backing from India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). The failure of the operation reportedly triggered widespread resentment among BLA militants against the top leadership.

While it remains unconfirmed whether the alleged assassination attempt was orchestrated by rival factions, most notably the Rahman Gul group, or resulted from deep penetration by external intelligence networks, the reported incident points to a severe crisis of command within the BLA.

Security analysts cited in the account say Zeb’s reported evacuation to India further exposes alleged external state patronage provided to banned militant groups operating against Pakistan.
