According to the military’s media wing, the missile is equipped with an advanced terminal guidance system designed to engage enemy aerial targets at longer ranges.
The ISPR said the Fa’az missile would enhance the Pakistan Air Force’s operational flexibility and strengthen the country’s overall defence capabilities.
The successful flight test also demonstrated the technical progress, innovation and growing self-reliance of Pakistan’s domestic defence industry, the statement added.
Senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces witnessed the launch alongside scientists and engineers involved in developing the missile system.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and the services chiefs congratulated the scientists and engineers on the successful test.
The development represents another step in Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen indigenous missile technology and reduce dependence on foreign defence systems.
