MUMBAI: Security has been tightened around Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai following an attack on actor Tiger Shroff, amid reports that investigators are examining whether Salman Khan was the intended target.
Additional police personnel have been deployed around the Bandra residence, while patrols in the area have also been increased.
According to the report, three armed men on motorcycles allegedly opened fire at Tiger Shroff’s vehicle in Mumbai’s Juhu area on October 18, injuring three people. Shroff was not harmed in the incident.
Police investigations reportedly found that the suspects had conducted reconnaissance of Galaxy Apartments before the attack on Shroff. However, police officials said questioning of the arrested suspects did not establish that another actor was specifically targeted, as the men were allegedly part of a weapons supply network and had limited knowledge of the broader operation.
Investigative sources cited in reports also claimed that the suspects moved around Mumbai disguised as tourists and surveyed locations associated with several celebrities.
The names reportedly mentioned include Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan.
