ISLAMABAD — Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and Senator Rubina Khalid has urged the international community to take effective measures against the growing trend of Islamophobia, warning that religious hatred threatens global peace and interfaith harmony.
In her message on the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, Senator Rubina Khalid said that Islamophobia poses a serious challenge to peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among religions. She emphasized that Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance, and humanity, and negative propaganda against it must be rejected.
She stated that the rise of hate narratives targeting Muslims constitutes a violation of fundamental human rights and undermines efforts to promote global harmony.

Call for global unity against religious hatred
Rubina Khalid stressed the need for international cooperation and dialogue to address the growing phenomenon of Islamophobia.
She said governments, institutions, and civil society organizations around the world must work collectively to counter prejudice, discrimination, and misinformation about Islam and Muslims.
The senator added that promoting religious harmony and mutual respect is essential for building peaceful societies.
Pakistan’s stance on religious tolerance
She said Pakistan will continue to raise its voice for religious tolerance, respect among faiths, and the protection of minority rights at international forums.
Rubina Khalid also stated that prejudice and politics based on hatred against Islam are unacceptable and must be challenged through awareness, dialogue, and collective global action.
She emphasized that the world must promote messages of tolerance, coexistence, and interfaith understanding to counter religious discrimination.
