LAHORE — The Government of Punjab has launched the Chief Minister Punjab Climate Leadership Development Internship Program, inviting applications from young graduates interested in climate and environmental initiatives across the province.
According to officials, the three-month internship will provide selected participants with a monthly stipend of Rs60,000 and an official government internship certificate upon completion. The initiative aims to involve young graduates in climate-related projects while giving them practical exposure to environmental governance and sustainability policies.
The program will be implemented in collaboration with the Environment Protection and Climate Change Department (EPCCD) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Interns will participate in structured training through a Learning Management System, fieldwork activities, and project-based assignments.

Training, mentorship and project work
Participants will gain experience through field exposure with environmental departments and will work on capstone projects focused on climate action and sustainability challenges. The program also includes mentorship from environmental experts and policymakers.
Officials said the initiative is designed to help young graduates develop practical skills in climate policy, environmental protection and sustainable development.
Merit-based selection across Punjab
Authorities said the selection process will be conducted on a merit basis and distributed district-wise to ensure representation from across Punjab.
Half of the available internship positions have been reserved for female applicants, according to the program guidelines.
Interested candidates can submit applications through the official portals at epd.punjab.gov.pk/climateinternship and climateinternship.pk. The deadline to apply for the first batch of the internship program is March 29, 2026.
