Rescue 1122 Shangla has launched a district-wide public awareness campaign and established temporary medical relief camps in key markets and public places to help residents cope with the ongoing heatwave and reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.

The initiative, carried out under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Engineer Malik Sher Dil Khan, aims to strengthen emergency response capacity and improve public awareness as temperatures continue to rise across the region.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the relief camps have been equipped with first-aid supplies, oral rehydration solutions, drinking water, and other essential medical materials to treat cases of heat exhaustion, dehydration, heatstroke and sunstroke. Trained personnel are present at all sites to provide immediate assistance where needed.

Alongside medical support, rescue teams are also conducting awareness sessions for the public, advising people to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure during peak hours, and wear light, loose-fitting clothing to reduce heat stress.

Officials said citizens are also being guided on basic first-aid measures for heat-related emergencies and encouraged to contact Rescue 1122 immediately in case of any medical emergency or accident.

District Emergency Officer Engineer Malik Sher Dil Khan said Rescue 1122 remains committed to protecting lives and property and is prepared to respond to all emergencies, including heatwaves, floods, fires, road accidents and landslides. He urged the public to adopt preventive measures and seek timely help when required.
