PESHAWAR, Monday, September 21, 2026: RAWAN Organization, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter of BARGAD, brought officials of Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) and members of the local Christian community together for an accountability forum aimed at addressing civic concerns and improving dialogue with public service providers.
The forum, held at a church in Peshawar, provided community members with an opportunity to directly raise issues related to municipal services and other local concerns with WSSP representatives.
More than 40 members of the Christian community participated in the session and highlighted problems affecting their neighbourhoods and daily lives.
WSSP official Mohammad Ismail listened to the concerns raised by participants and assured the community that matters falling within the department’s jurisdiction would be addressed at the earliest.
The session was organised under RAWAN’s Accountability Forum initiative, which seeks to create direct channels of communication between government departments and local communities.
Organisers said such forums were intended to move beyond simply identifying public concerns by connecting residents with the relevant authorities and facilitating practical solutions.
The Peshawar forum also focused on strengthening community participation in local governance and enabling minority communities to communicate their civic concerns directly to service-delivery institutions.
RAWAN said the initiative aims to promote accountability, dialogue and greater responsiveness from public departments while helping communities pursue solutions to issues affecting them at the local level.
