Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad has retained its position as Pakistan’s top-ranked university in the QS World University Rankings 2027, according to a statement issued by the university.
The university said it has been ranked 381st globally, reaffirming its standing as a leading higher education institution in Pakistan. The ranking matters for students, faculty and researchers as global university rankings are widely used to assess academic reputation, research performance and institutional visibility.
QAU also reported a strong performance in research impact, saying it has been placed among the world’s top 60 universities in the Citations per Faculty indicator with a score of 97.2 out of 100.

QS rankings assess universities through several indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations, international faculty, international students and other performance measures.
Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, Vice Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University, congratulated the university’s faculty, students, staff, alumni and ranking committee on the achievement.
He said their dedication and work had contributed to strengthening QAU’s reputation as a center of excellence in higher education and research.
