LAHORE, Aug 4: Punjab Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan distributed awards among senior lawyers and members of the business community at a ceremony held in Lahore, recognising their professional services and contributions to society.
Speaking at the event, the minister said awards acknowledged hard work, integrity and professional excellence while encouraging recipients to continue contributing to economic development, justice and public welfare.
The ceremony, held at a private hotel, was attended by PIAF Patron-in-Chief Mian Anjum Nisar, Rehman Foundation Chairman Dr. Waqar Niaz, programme in-charge Shakir Mahmood Chaudhry, Daniyal Rathore, senior lawyers, industrialists, businesspeople and representatives from different sectors.
Business and legal communities praised
Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan described the business community as the backbone of the national economy, saying entrepreneurs and industrialists played a central role in investment, employment and economic growth.
He said the legal fraternity was equally important because lawyers helped uphold the Constitution, protect the rule of law and support the effective delivery of justice.
“A strong economy and a robust legal system are the foundations of every developed society,” he said.
The minister congratulated Shakir Mahmood Chaudhry and Daniyal Rathore on organising the event and said recognition ceremonies encouraged professionals who rendered valuable services in their respective fields.
Punjab government highlights investment measures
Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan said the Punjab government, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, was taking steps to address issues faced by the business community, attract investment and improve the province’s business environment.
He added that legal reforms, timely delivery of justice and the welfare of lawyers remained among the government’s priorities.
The provincial government was committed to building a secure, prosperous and progressive Punjab through cooperation with business leaders, legal professionals and other stakeholders, he said.
The minister expressed confidence that the award recipients would continue using their experience and professional skills to support Pakistan’s economic stability, development and rule of law.
