The Punjab School Education Department has announced a revised summer vacation schedule for educational institutions in Murree and Kotli Sattian, with both public and private schools set to remain closed from July 18 to July 31, 2026.

According to an official notification, the temporary closure has been approved in response to rising temperatures in the hill regions. The decision applies to all government and private schools operating in the two areas.

Schools To Reopen On August 1

The notification states that academic activities will resume after the holiday period, with schools reopening on August 1, 2026.

Education authorities said the break is intended to provide relief to students and teachers during the period of increased summer heat.

Similar Decision Taken In Balochistan

The announcement follows a similar decision by the Balochistan School Education Department, which earlier issued a summer vacation schedule for schools located in the province’s colder regions.

Under that notification, government and private schools in the affected districts will remain closed from July 18 to August 2, 2026.

The latest notification applies specifically to educational institutions in Murree and Kotli Sattian.
