The Punjab government has announced interest-free loans of up to Rs300,000 under the Parwaz Card Scheme for young people seeking employment opportunities abroad.

The initiative is aimed at helping skilled youth meet travel, documentation and initial settlement expenses as they pursue overseas jobs. Officials said the scheme is part of the provincial government’s broader effort to improve access to international employment and reduce financial barriers for young workers.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced the support during a meeting with young people selected under the Parwaz Card Scheme. She said the government would assist youth in professional development and help them access better career opportunities abroad.

According to officials, the loan amount will be repayable in easy installments to reduce the financial burden on applicants. The chief minister was also briefed on the Parwaz Card and Skill City projects.

Officials said the first group of 135 young people will leave for overseas employment on June 28, with the Punjab government covering their departure and initial expenses.

Maryam Nawaz said Pakistani youth have strong potential and can compete in the global job market if provided with proper skills training and professional opportunities. She urged selected candidates to learn modern skills abroad and use their experience for Pakistan’s development.

The Punjab government is also working on training initiatives for 500,000 young people across the province. Modern training centers and skill labs are being established in several areas, including South Punjab, to prepare youth according to international market needs.

Officials said the Parwaz Card Scheme is expected to support overseas employment, strengthen skilled workforce development and create new opportunities for young people across Punjab.
