ISLAMABAD, Sunday, September 20, 2026: Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) President Prof Dr Rizwan Taj visited MDCAT 2026 examination centres at Air University and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) in Islamabad to review arrangements and observe the conduct of the nationwide medical and dental admission test.
During the visits, the PM&DC president inspected facilities provided to candidates and reviewed measures taken to ensure the examination was conducted smoothly, transparently and in an orderly manner.
Prof Dr Rizwan Taj expressed satisfaction with the overall arrangements and appreciated the institutions and teams involved in conducting MDCAT 2026.
He said all possible facilities had been provided to candidates to ensure a conducive examination environment. Special examination centres were also established in Islamabad to facilitate candidates from Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
138,158 candidates registered for MDCAT 2026
MDCAT 2026 was conducted nationwide for 138,158 registered candidates, with examination centres established across 34 cities and towns in Pakistan.
An international examination centre was also established in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to facilitate candidates appearing for the test overseas.
The examination involved coordination between PM&DC, examination-centre administrations, security personnel, support teams and other stakeholders.
PM&DC to conduct post-hoc analysis
Prof Dr Rizwan Taj said PM&DC would undertake a post-hoc analysis of MDCAT 2026 following completion of the examination.
The exercise will provide a comprehensive review of the examination process and assess the effectiveness of the arrangements and procedures adopted for the test.
According to PM&DC, MDCAT 2026 was the second examination conducted under the present council in accordance with the prescribed regulatory framework, examination guidelines, approved questions and established standards.
