KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has dismissed the bail applications of Zeeshan and Sohail, who are accused of allegedly facilitating Anmol, alias Pinky, in financial transactions linked to a criminal case.
During the hearing, defence counsel requested permission to withdraw the bail applications and also asked the court to direct the trial court to conclude proceedings at the earliest.
Justice Iqbal Kalhoro dismissed the bail pleas on the basis of their withdrawal and directed the trial court to complete the case within three months.
The judge observed that if the trial is not completed within the stipulated period, the applicants may approach the court again. Any fresh bail applications would then be decided on their merits.
Allegations Against the Accused
According to the prosecution, Zeeshan and Sohail allegedly provided financial facilitation to Anmol alias Pinky. The two accused are associated with the microfinance business.
The prosecution told the court that the accused allegedly verified the receipt of money said to be related to drug transactions. After the verification, according to the prosecution, riders would proceed with drug deliveries.
The allegations are part of the ongoing case, and the accused remain entitled to due process under the law.
