TEHRAN, October 25, 2026: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has blamed US President Donald Trump for the failure of an interim agreement between Tehran and Washington, calling for renewed efforts to implement the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

Pezeshkian accused the United States of disrupting negotiations that were underway between the two countries.

“We were negotiating, but the Americans ruined everything,” the Iranian president said.

Despite the breakdown in negotiations, Pezeshkian expressed support for reviving diplomatic efforts and completing the proposed agreement.

He said he believed another attempt should be made to finalize the deal, emphasizing the need to pursue the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

His remarks came amid renewed tensions between Iran and the United States, with Washington raising the possibility of further military action against Tehran.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump warned that an American attack on Iran could take place as early as Monday, October 26, 2026, while also suggesting that a major agreement remained possible.

“An attack on Iran could happen as early as tomorrow, or a major agreement could be reached,” Trump said on October 25.

Asked about the timing of a possible military operation, Trump declined to provide details, saying he would not disclose when any potential strike might take place.

The statements from both presidents come as uncertainty continues over the future of negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

While Pezeshkian has called for renewed implementation of the Islamabad agreement, Trump has kept both military action and a diplomatic settlement among Washington’s possible options.
