PESHAWAR, Tuesday, September 22, 2026: Students and staff of Peshawar Medical College (PMC) donated blood during a special drive organised in collaboration with the Hamza Foundation to support children living with thalassemia and haemophilia.
The blood donation camp was organised by SWS PMC and SWS PDC at Peshawar Medical College, drawing participation from students, faculty and staff who volunteered to help meet the blood requirements of patients dependent on regular transfusions.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by PDC Dean and Principal Prof Dr Raza, Prof Dr Shahab Adil, Prof Dr M. Aman Khan, Prof Dr Ashraf Khan and other doctors.
The camp was held under the supervision of Chairperson Prof Dr Mohsina Haq and Dr Anoshia Zahid of PDC, along with President Furqan Ali, General Secretary Malik Umair and Unqa Javed Farooqi.
Organisers said a significant number of blood donations were collected during the drive, with students and staff members of Peshawar Medical College actively participating as donors.
The initiative was aimed at supporting children suffering from thalassemia and haemophilia, conditions in which patients may require regular access to blood or blood products as part of their treatment.
Organisers thanked the donors, volunteers and the Peshawar Medical College community for contributing to the campaign and helping make the blood donation drive successful.
They particularly appreciated students and staff who volunteered to donate blood, highlighting the importance of community participation in maintaining blood supplies for patients requiring regular transfusions.
