ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration officials offloaded a passenger at Islamabad International Airport after his Lithuanian residence card was found to be suspected or potentially fake during a detailed examination of his travel documents.
According to FIA officials, the passenger was scheduled to travel to Lithuania aboard Turkish Airlines flight TK 0751. Before departure, an immigration counter official referred him for secondary profiling.
During a detailed inspection of his travel documents, the passenger’s Lithuanian residence card was found to be suspicious. He was subsequently transferred to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Islamabad for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The FIA said it remained committed to taking action against agents who deceive citizens under the pretext of overseas employment and travel.
The agency advised the public to obtain visas and travel documents through authentic and verified channels and to remain cautious of suspicious agents.
