ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s armed forces carried out additional precision airstrikes inside Afghanistan overnight as part of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, targeting what security officials described as militant infrastructure used by Afghan Taliban-linked elements and the banned group Fitna Al Khawarij.

According to security sources, the strikes were conducted during the night between March 14 and 15, hitting multiple technical installations allegedly used by militants operating against Pakistan. Officials said the operation is aimed at dismantling cross-border terrorist networks responsible for attacks inside Pakistan.

Kandahar equipment tunnel destroyed

Security officials said Pakistani forces successfully targeted several installations during the operation, including a key underground tunnel in Kandahar used for storing technical equipment and operational supplies.

According to the sources, the facility served as a storage site for equipment used by militants and was considered an important logistical hub. The tunnel and associated infrastructure were destroyed during the strikes.

Officials said the latest action reflects Pakistan’s resolve to neutralize terrorist infrastructure threatening its national security.

Rising tensions along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border

The developments come amid heightened tensions along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border. Pakistani officials have repeatedly said that militant groups operating from Afghan territory are responsible for attacks on Pakistani security forces and civilians.

Islamabad has urged Afghan authorities to prevent the use of their territory against Pakistan, while also emphasizing that it will take necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and national security.
