ISLAMABAD, October 10, 2026: Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the National Savings organisation, has begun work on a Hajj Savings Plan designed to help prospective pilgrims save for the pilgrimage through an interest-free scheme.

According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, preparations are under way to introduce the plan following approval from the prime minister.

Under the proposed scheme, prospective pilgrims will be able to deposit money monthly through digital payment channels, making it easier to accumulate the funds required for Hajj over time.

The plan is also expected to offer flexibility in selecting the savings period, along with a family transfer facility.

The initiative aims to provide a structured savings option for people planning to perform Hajj, allowing them to set aside money gradually rather than arranging the entire amount at once.

The ministry spokesperson said further details, including the scheme’s procedures and other requirements, would be announced in due course.

Important: The plan is still in the preparation stage, according to the announcement. Its launch, eligibility criteria, savings terms and other operational details have not yet been fully disclosed.
