Pakistan announce squad for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, with Fatima Sana retained as captain and five players selected for their first appearance at the tournament.

The same squad will also represent Pakistan in a tri-series in Ireland ahead of the World Cup. The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be held in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5, while the Ireland tri-series is scheduled from May 28 to June 4 in Dublin and also includes Ireland and West Indies.

Eyman Fatima, Natalia Pervaiz, Rameen Shamim, Saira Jabeen and Tasmia Rubab are set to make their Women’s T20 World Cup debuts.

Fatima Sana, 24, will feature in her third T20 World Cup and will captain Pakistan for the second consecutive edition after leading the side during the 2024 tournament in the United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan enter the tournament after completing a 3-0 T20I series sweep against Zimbabwe in Karachi. According to the PCB, the series served as part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming international events.

Before the start of the World Cup, Pakistan will play two warm-up matches in Derby, facing Sri Lanka on June 6 and Scotland on June 9.

Pakistan’s Group Stage Fixtures

Pakistan will open their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup campaign against India at Edgbaston in Birmingham on June 14. They will then face South Africa at the same venue on June 17.

The team will play Bangladesh at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton on June 20, Australia at Headingley in Leeds on June 23, and the Netherlands at the Bristol County Ground in Bristol on June 27.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for June 30 and July 2. The final will take place at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on July 5.

Coaching and Support Staff

Wahab Riaz has been appointed mentor and head coach for the tournament, while Ayesha Ashhar will serve as team manager.

The support staff also includes Abdur Rehman as spin bowling coach, Umaid Asif as fast bowling coach, Abdul Majeed as fielding coach and Imran Farhat as batting coach.
