Pakistan Champions’ participation in the 2026 World Championship of Legends has come under scrutiny amid reports that Pakistani cricketers may not be permitted to take part in the tournament.
The World Championship of Legends is scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates from October 3 to 18, with seven teams listed for the third season, including Pakistan Champions and India Champions. The tournament’s official website currently lists Pakistan Champions in the competition and has scheduled an India-Pakistan Champions fixture for October 10 in Dubai.
According to reports cited in Pakistani media, concerns have emerged over Pakistan’s participation, although the available official WCL schedule does not currently reflect a withdrawal of Pakistan Champions from the tournament.
The development follows the controversy surrounding the 2025 edition, when India Champions declined to play Pakistan Champions during the league stage and later withdrew from their scheduled semi-final. WCL subsequently cancelled the semi-final and awarded Pakistan Champions a place in the final.
For the 2026 season, the official WCL schedule lists Pakistan Champions’ opening match against Bangladesh Champions on October 3, followed by fixtures against Australia, West Indies, India, South Africa and England.
The situation could change if tournament organisers or relevant cricket authorities issue a formal announcement regarding Pakistan’s participation. At present, the official WCL schedule continues to show Pakistan Champions as one of the participating teams.
