Pakistan Champions have been prevented from participating in the 2026 World Championship of Legends (WCL) after the Pakistan Cricket Board reportedly declined to issue No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the players.
According to sources cited in the report, the PCB had informed the Pakistan Champions management about a week earlier that NOCs would not be issued for the tournament. The players were reportedly in Dubai, but without the required clearance, the team could not take part.
The development means Pakistan Champions will not play their scheduled opening match against Bangladesh Champions on October 3. The official WCL website had listed the fixture as part of the tournament schedule. World Championship of Legends
A report published by The Express Tribune on September 28 had also reported, citing sources, that Pakistani cricketers would not be permitted to participate in the tournament. It linked the development to last year’s WCL edition, when India Champions declined to play against Pakistan Champions. The Express Tribune
The 2026 WCL is scheduled to run in the UAE from October 3 to 18, with seven teams listed for the competition
