ISLAMABAD, October 26, 2026: The opposition alliance Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) has expressed its willingness to engage in direct dialogue with the government, saying the opposition leader is prepared to visit the Prime Minister’s House to help steer the country out of its ongoing crises.
In a statement on Monday, TTAP spokesperson Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai said the opposition leader had once again invited the government to engage in serious and meaningful negotiations.
He maintained that the opposition was ready to pursue dialogue in the broader national interest and address the challenges confronting Pakistan.
Opposition responds to Attaullah Tarar
Yousafzai criticised Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, claiming that he was unaware of the basic points discussed between the government and opposition regarding possible negotiations.
The TTAP spokesperson said Tarar should have consulted senior government figures, including Rana Sanaullah and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, before commenting on the matter.
He also suggested that the information minister should have sought clarification from Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar to understand the actual position regarding the proposed talks.
According to Yousafzai, consultations with these officials would have clarified which side had stepped back from the negotiation process.
Opposition renews offer for dialogue
The spokesperson reiterated that the opposition leader had extended another invitation to the government for serious political dialogue.
He said the opposition leader had explicitly expressed his readiness to visit the Prime Minister’s House for discussions aimed at resolving the country’s crises.
Yousafzai maintained that the opposition’s willingness to engage demonstrated its commitment to finding solutions through dialogue.
The statement comes amid continuing disagreements between the government and opposition over the prospects for political negotiations.
However, the spokesperson did not announce a date for any proposed meeting or indicate whether the government had formally accepted the renewed invitation.
