LAHORE: The National School of Public Policy and Kinnaird College for Women University have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in public policy research, academic publications and joint learning initiatives.
The agreement is expected to create new opportunities for faculty collaboration, seminars, internships and capacity-building programmes, while giving students greater exposure to real-world policy challenges.
The memorandum was signed in Lahore by NSPP Rector Farhan Aziz Khawaja and Kinnaird College Principal Prof Dr Iram Anjum on behalf of their institutions.
Speaking at the ceremony, Khawaja said the partnership would help connect academic learning with practical policy work. He added that students who engage with public-sector challenges at an early stage are more likely to develop a stronger understanding of governance and public service.
Prof Dr Iram Anjum said the collaboration would help bridge the gap between academic research and policy practice by enabling faculty members and students to work more closely with public policy institutions.
Earlier, Dr Naveed Elahi, dean of the National Institute of Public Policy, welcomed the participants and outlined the structure of NSPP, including the National Institute of Public Policy, Administrative Staff College and National Institutes of Public Administration.
He said the agreement reflected NSPP’s broader effort to build stronger links with leading academic institutions across Pakistan.
Elahi added that one of the most important outcomes of the partnership would be increased interaction between public policy professionals and Kinnaird College students.
Senior representatives from both institutions attended the signing ceremony.
