ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, July 28, 2026: Newly appointed Commander National Strategic Command General Syed Aamer Raza met Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad, the Pakistan Navy said on Tuesday.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf welcomed General Aamer Raza on his arrival and congratulated him on assuming charge as the first Commander of the National Strategic Command.
During the meeting, the two senior military officials discussed maritime security challenges and the Pakistan Navy’s preparedness to protect the country’s maritime interests.
The naval chief briefed General Raza on the prevailing security environment at sea and the Navy’s operational measures to safeguard Pakistan’s maritime frontiers.
General Raza appreciated the Pakistan Navy’s operational readiness and its role in maintaining maritime security.
The meeting came after General Aamer Raza assumed command of the newly established National Strategic Command, which is responsible for coordinating strategic capabilities and strengthening the country’s broader defence framework.
