Alia Fakhri, the sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, known for her role in the hit film Rockstar, has been arrested on charges of murder.
According to international media reports, Alia Fakhri was taken into custody in Queens, USA, over allegations of killing her ex-boyfriend and his friend. She is currently under investigation.
Reports state that 43-year-old Alia is accused of setting fire to a two-story house, resulting in the deaths of 35-year-old Edward Jacobs and 33-year-old Anastasia Eden due to smoke inhalation.
The District Attorney General revealed that an eyewitness claimed Alia arrived at the house on the morning of November 2, shouting, “Today, you all will die!” Shortly afterward, the house was seen engulfed in flames.
Investigations suggest jealousy as the motive behind the incident. If the charges are proven, Alia Fakhri could face a life sentence. Her bail request was denied by the Queens Criminal Court, and the next hearing is scheduled for December 9.
Commenting on the matter, Nargis Fakhri’s mother stated that Alia would never think of harming anyone, describing her as a caring and helpful person.
So far, Nargis Fakhri has not issued any statement regarding the incident, nor is she reportedly with her family at this time.
