Naqvi bids farewell to US Ambassador Donald Blome

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi bid farewell to outgoing US Ambassador Donald Blome on Thursday. The two discussed matters of mutual interest, including strengthening Pakistan-US relations and strategies to address global issues such as terrorism. Minister Naqvi appreciated Ambassador Blome’s contribution to strengthening ties between the two nations and wished the diplomat all the best in his future endeavours. During the meeting, the US ambassador condemned the recent incidents of terrorism in Pakistan and reaffirmed the need for global cooperation to combat the menace. Echoing this sentiment, Minister Naqvi said, “Terrorism is a global problem that requires a unified response. The international community must work together to create a comprehensive plan to eradicate it.” The interior minister also emphasized Pakistan’s strict stance on illegal immigration and declared that no unauthorized foreign nationals would be allowed to stay in the country. Ambassador Blome expressed gratitude for the support he received from Pakistani institutions during his tenure and appreciated their cooperation in facilitating diplomatic efforts. The meeting was attended by Federal Interior Minister Khurram Ali Agha and US Deputy Head of Mission Natalie Baker.
