ISLAMABAD, July 2: The Board of Directors of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited has appointed Nadeem Khan as Chief Executive Officer of PTCL, following the completion of the amalgamation of Telenor Pakistan into Pak Telecom Mobile Limited, which operates as Ufone 5G.
According to PTCL, Khan, who previously served as Group Chief Financial Officer of PTCL and Ufone, has been appointed CEO of PTCL with immediate effect for a period of 14 days.
The leadership change comes as PTCL Group enters a new phase after the integration of Telenor Pakistan into PTML.
Khan is a Chartered Accountant and has been associated with the PTCL Group for more than two decades. He joined Ufone as Chief Financial Officer in 2003 and held the role for 10 years before briefly serving on the Board of U Microfinance Bank Limited.
He was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer at PTCL Group in 2017, where he oversaw the group’s financial strategy during a period of major transformation, including the acquisition of Telenor Pakistan.
Khan also serves as a member of the Accounting Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
PTCL said Hatem Bamatraf, who served as President and CEO of PTCL and Ufone for the past five years, has stepped down from his role at PTCL and will assume the position of CEO of Pak Telecom Mobile Limited.
The company said the transition is aimed at ensuring continuity across PTCL and PTML as both organizations move into their next phase of growth.
