Pakistan’s Muhammad Ashab Irfan has secured another medal for the country at the 2026 Asian Games after defeating India’s Veer Chotrani in the men’s singles squash quarterfinal.
Irfan came from behind to beat Chotrani 3–1, winning the match 6–11, 11–8, 11–3, 11–3. The victory sent the Pakistani player into the semifinals and guaranteed him at least a bronze medal.
Irfan will face India’s top-seeded Abhay Singh in the semifinal. Singh had earlier defeated Japan’s Ryunosuke Tsukue 3–0 to reach the last four.
Pakistan Squash Federation results also recorded Irfan’s earlier 3–0 victory over Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Al Nasfan in the round of 16.
The semifinal will give Irfan another opportunity to compete for a place in the final and improve the colour of Pakistan’s medal.
