PESHAWAR, April 22, 2026 — Volunteers associated with Monal Restaurant donated 100 blood bags during a camp organised in collaboration with Hamza Foundation Welfare Thalassemia Center, supporting patients who require regular transfusions.
The blood donation drive, held at Monal Restaurant on The Mall in Peshawar Cantt, aimed to assist more than 1,500 registered thalassemia and haemophilia patients under the foundation’s care. Organisers said the initiative highlights the ongoing need for voluntary blood donations to sustain treatment for such conditions.
Blood donation camp and participation
The camp was arranged jointly by Hamza Foundation and Blood Services Peshawar, with logistical support from Monal Restaurant. Medical screening of donors was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Tariq Khan before eligible volunteers participated in the drive.
According to organisers, around 100 volunteers donated blood following health clearance, contributing to a supply that can support multiple patients, as a single donation can benefit more than one individual in need.
Officials acknowledge support
Foundation representatives acknowledged the role of volunteers and the restaurant’s management in facilitating the initiative. Ijaz Ali Khan, founder chairman of Hamza Foundation, thanked participants for supporting patients who depend on regular transfusions.
At the conclusion of the event, commemorative shields were presented to representatives of Monal Restaurant in recognition of their cooperation in organising the drive.
Ongoing need for blood donations
Health officials emphasised that consistent blood donation campaigns remain essential for the treatment of thalassemia and haemophilia patients, many of whom require lifelong transfusion support.
