Mohammad Amir Joins Trent Rockets for The Hundred 2026 as Injury Replacement

Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has joined Trent Rockets for The Hundred 2026, replacing England pacer David Payne, who has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury.

The franchise confirmed the signing on social media, welcoming Amir to the squad and wishing Payne a speedy recovery. Amir’s addition strengthens the Rockets’ pace attack ahead of the new season.

Mohammad Amir also shared a message on X, expressing his excitement about joining Trent Rockets for the upcoming edition of The Hundred.

The 33-year-old has represented Pakistan in 36 Test matches, 61 One-Day Internationals, and 62 T20 Internationals during his international career.

Experienced campaigner in English cricket

Amir became a British citizen after receiving a UK passport last month and has previous experience in The Hundred.

He has earlier represented London Spirit and Oval Invincibles, taking six wickets in eight matches across previous editions of the competition.

Meanwhile, Pakistani spinners Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq also secured contracts in The Hundred 2026 draft. Abrar Ahmed has been picked by Sunrisers Leeds, while Birmingham Phoenix signed Usman Tariq.
