Missing Girl Reunited With Family After 14 Years at Edhi Shelter Home

KARACHI: The Edhi Foundation has reunited another missing girl with her family after 14 years, marking a significant success in its ongoing efforts to trace and return missing persons to their loved ones.

According to a spokesperson for the Edhi Foundation, the girl was first brought to the Edhi Shelter Home in Sohrab Goth on April 16, 2012, after being found at the Karachi Cantonment Railway Help Centre at the age of 14.

Long journey ends in reunion

After spending 14 years under the care of the Edhi Shelter Home, the woman—now 28 years old—was identified and handed over to her family on June 19, 2026, a Friday.

Officials said the reunion took place after successful verification of her identity and contact with her relatives.

Handed over to family members

The Edhi Foundation confirmed that she was handed over to her sister and brother-in-law, who had travelled from Punjab to receive her. The woman later departed with her family to her hometown.

The Edhi Foundation reiterated its commitment to locating missing persons and reuniting them with their families through its nationwide shelter and tracing services.
