Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane has expressed her sadness following the news of Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement from international football.
Mawra and her husband, actor Ameer Gilani, joined millions of football fans around the world in paying tribute to the legendary player and celebrating his remarkable career.
The couple shared their reactions through Instagram Stories, expressing admiration for Ronaldo and the legacy he has built throughout his years representing Portugal.
Sharing a video announcing Ronaldo’s retirement, Mawra posted an emotional message, admitting that she was not ready to see the football icon stop representing his country.
“My heart is shattered into a million pieces. I always knew this day would make me cry. I knew it was coming, but I still don’t think I was prepared for it,” she wrote.
Praising Ronaldo’s extraordinary impact on football, the actress added: “There will never be anyone like you. Ever. You were magic.”
Mawra also said fans were fortunate to have witnessed his career from its early days, describing Ronaldo as football itself for many supporters.
“We are so lucky to have lived in your era and watched you play from your early days until now. For most of us, you are football, and you always will be,” she added.
Ameer Gilani also shared a heartfelt tribute to the Portuguese star, joining his wife in acknowledging Ronaldo’s contribution to the sport.
