Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has issued a statement on the high-profile Hina Javed murder case, saying she is closely monitoring the investigation and that forensic and polygraph test results indicate the involvement of a domestic worker in the alleged murder and sexual assault.

Responding to a post by senior journalist Mubashir Zaidi on X, Maryam Nawaz said the investigation into the Hina Javed murder and sexual assault case is still underway.

In a separate statement, the Punjab chief minister revealed that in a recent sexual assault case, the family of an accused allegedly offered the victim between Rs15 million and Rs20 million to withdraw her allegations. She noted that the woman’s statement had already been recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Maryam Nawaz further said there were also allegations that the judge who granted bail to the accused in the sexual assault case had been bribed.

The chief minister stressed that if these allegations are proven true, they would raise serious questions about the integrity of the justice system and highlight the vulnerability of sexual assault survivors to financial pressure and abuse of influence.

Maryam Nawaz said she would continue monitoring such cases to ensure that no perpetrator could escape accountability through money, influence or connections.

“Justice should never be for sale,” she said, stressing that no individual should be considered above the law.
