The controversy arose after the district administration sought to postpone a supplementary computer science examination scheduled for November 10, citing arrangements for the chief minister’s VVIP visit.
Maryam Nawaz said students and ordinary citizens should not face disruption because of her official engagements.
She maintained that the deputy commissioner had clearly violated her directions by allowing arrangements for the visit to interfere with the examination schedule.
Meanwhile, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi has rescheduled the November 10 examinations for both groups in Jhelum to November 30.
Examinations in other districts of Punjab will continue according to their original schedules.
The development has drawn attention to the impact of official visit arrangements on educational activities, particularly examinations involving students preparing for supplementary assessments.
