TEHRAN, November 8, 2026: Iran’s armed forces have warned the United States against continuing what they described as hostile and hegemonic policies towards Tehran, saying Washington and its allies should reconsider their approach to avoid further setbacks.
Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces, issued the warning on Sunday, according to Iranian state media.
Shekarchi said recent political and electoral developments in the United States reflected what he described as Washington’s failure in its confrontation with Iran.
Referring to the reported Republican setbacks in the US midterm elections, the Iranian military spokesperson argued that the political changes were not merely the result of domestic developments but also reflected broader failures in American foreign policy.
He claimed that Iran’s resistance had demonstrated the limitations of US pressure and confrontation.
The spokesperson urged Washington and its allies to abandon policies aimed at exerting dominance over Iran, warning that continued confrontation would ultimately fail to achieve its objectives.
He maintained that countries pursuing hostile policies against Tehran would face political setbacks and instability.
His remarks come amid continuing tensions between Iran and the United States, with the wider Middle East conflict contributing to uncertainty over regional security.
The statements reflect Tehran’s position on its confrontation with Washington. The claimed connection between US electoral developments and American policy towards Iran has not been independently established.
