The Lower Dir district administration has conducted a refresher training session to strengthen preparations for the November 2026 polio vaccination campaign, focusing on staff capacity-building, effective supervision and improved campaign implementation.

The session was held at the District Assembly Hall on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir Basharat Ahmad. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr Iza Arshad attended the training.

Participants included the EPI Coordinator, PEI Coordinator, Public Health Coordinator of the Health Department and all area in-charges.

The training aimed to improve pre-campaign planning, strengthen supervisory mechanisms and ensure that vaccination teams were adequately prepared to deliver a high-quality campaign.

Participants received guidance on conducting training sessions at the union council level, reviewing sessions delivered by master trainers and ensuring that all relevant personnel were fully equipped before the campaign begins.

Special emphasis was placed on identifying and correcting deficiencies in micro-plans, enhancing staff technical skills, maintaining vaccination standards and strengthening monitoring throughout the campaign.

N-Staff Officer Dr Anwar Jamal provided practical guidance through visual presentations, videos and other training materials to improve participants’ understanding of campaign procedures.

At the conclusion of the session, participants reaffirmed their commitment to the successful implementation of the November polio vaccination campaign through effective planning, quality training and coordinated efforts.

They also pledged to utilise available resources to strengthen the capacity of area in-charges and other relevant staff, helping ensure that vaccination activities are carried out efficiently across the district.
